ITIL Operations Management

The IT Infrastructure Library consists of a series of publications that describe a framework for delivering and managing IT services. ITIL is built around a process-model based view of controlling and managing operations. Configuration management, when used strictly for software development, is called Software Configuration Management (SCM).

The goal of SAM is to reduce IT expenditures, human resource overhead and risks inherent in owning and managing software assets.
