ITIL Small-Scale Implementation provides an approach to the implementation of the ITIL framework for those with smaller IT units or departments. Although the ITIL covers a number of areas, its main focus is on IT Service Management. In order to make ITIL more accessible (and affordable) to those wishing to explore it, one of the aims of ITIL v2 was to consolidate the publications into logical 'sets' that grouped related process guidelines into the different aspects of IT management, applications and services.

The IT Service Management Forum (itSMF) is an international users group. Its role is to promote the adoption of IT service management worldwide. A current, up to date Operational Documentation Library ("ODL") is required.
A Release consists of the new or changed software and/or hardware required to implement approved changes.
